Hi, I haven’t written anything for a while, so thought it update you all on what we’ve been up to. We’ve had a busy Christmas, with lots of orders which is always great! Our most popular product over the Christmas period was our Christmas scene candle holder.
Since Christmas we have been working with other small business to create some new products. Firstly we made some new custom Fired Larch Pots for Jo at MaisyPlum. This is the second batch of pots we’ve done, and as we have our very own pot (bottom right red design), I have to say they are absolutely stunning.
Just before Christmas we acquired a significant amount of Yew wood, from a tree that had come down in a local garden. This has allowed us a great opportunity to come up with some new products. Having our own sawmill allows us the perfect opportunity to slab up the trees as we need them.
Firstly we decided to use some of the more interesting shaped slabs for Candle holders. I wanted to incorporate another material into the design, so decided to find someone who could supply me with some T-Light glasses. We came across Andy from Create-England, who does some wonderful glass art, as well as Glass etching. This (and this is something we‘re really proud of) is the outcome..
We were then paired up with another small business during a Twitter collaboration “chat hour” (#collabhour). We were paired with Vicky of TwoMakers, a pairing of an Artist and Writer / crafted from East Anglia. We chatted for a bit coming up with ideas, and came up with not one, but four different designs!
So there we go. You’re now up to date with what we‘ve been up to the last couple of months, and we promise to try and blog more regularly in future 😂
